“You need a song, a passage from a book, and a scripture to sustain your ministry.”
THE SONG: This was probably the hardest of the three to figure out, because I am not a big musical guy. “All to Jesus, I surrender” is the song I picked because it states well what I often have to do, which is let go and just surrender to Christ. There are other songs that I really like, some contemporary and some traditional, but this seems the best from the stand point of ministry. Ministry is all about Jesus and all about others, not about me and my opinions and hopes. It can be very hard to remember that when you are working toward a goal or purpose. All that to say, this song has and does help me to let all my stuff go and move forward in God’s grace in surrender.
All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessèd Savior,
I surrender all.
All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
All to Jesus, I surrender;
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.
All to Jesus, I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
All to Jesus I surrender;
Now I feel the sacred flame.
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to His Name!
